Natural Time (actual time)
If you've asserted that choosing between false time
(so-called "Daylight Saving Time") and actual time
as the permanent clock system is either arbitrary,
nuanced, subject to "regional differences", has
anything to do with health, or that there is any
advantage whatsoever to false time, then you have
not one functioning neuron. There is nothing to
even think about -- not for even a nano-second.
Here is my post from March 14, 2021:
Scientific fact. Not social convention.
Choosing between natural time and false time as
the permanent clock system has nothing whatsoever
to do with the balance between morning and evening
lightness or darkness.
Only an idiot would proclaim otherwise.
Public and private entities set their hours of
operation as they see fit, which automatically
creates whatever balance is desired between
morning and evening lightness or darkness.
It is what drove their choices of scheduling
to begin with.
You don't understand that?
If you change the clocks, nothing prevents them
from changing their hours of operation, nullifying
your change.
Why would we want to set a baseline for them
to work with that is purposely one hour off..
..unless we are consummate idiots.
Are you a consummate idiot?
If you've boldly asserted your take on the
matter and gotten it wrong, then the label fits.
This is nothing like a trivial matter.
For that very same reason, the question as to whether
actual time or false time ought to be the permanent
clock system has nothing whatsoever to do with
anyone's health.
To claim otherwise is as ludicrous as claiming
there is any advantage whatsoever to false time.
----
The time of day is not a social convention. There
is nothing arbitrary about how the 24-hour clock was
established.
To those who try to defend false time I say:
If you don't know what you're talking about,
then you need to sit on your hands.
The earth rotates on its axis..
..and the time of day is a scientific fact for the
same reason that the earth's rotation relative to
the sun is a scientific fact.
The sun is precisely midway between sunrise and
sunset, time-wise and arc-length-wise, when at its
highest position, every day of the year, everywhere
on Earth. That is why high noon is 12 o'clock.
And it is why midday is 12 o'clock.
And it is why natural time is the only rational
target within the constraints of geo-political
boundaries. Such boundaries might introduce some
error, as will the width of a time zone.
Adding error to any such error cannot be justified.
There's no justification for calling high noon 1:00,
or for calling any other hour of the day anything
other than what it is.
My clocks show the correct time and I communicate
the time accordingly.
------------------------------------------------------
I can see the elementary school children being told
by their teachers that there are 24 hours in a day
and that midday is 1:00. All the children will know
that 24 divided by 2 equals 12, and they will all
think that adults must be severely mentally retarded.
The correct time, every day of the year:
